Quick and Delicious Homemade Marinara Sauce

This is a classic marinara sauce but can easily be made into a meat sauce. Just add the meatballs when you bring to a boil and simmer them right along with the sauce. Quick and Delicious Marinara Sauce
1 large onions, halved and sliced thin
6 garlic cloves, sliced
2 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
1 28 oz can San Marzano crushed tomatoes
1 tbs oregano
2 bay leaves
Salt and pepper to taste
In a large saucepan, heat olive oil.
Add onions and sauce until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add garlic. Saute 1-2 minutes more.
Add tomatoes and 3/4 can of water.
Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes. Check for desired consistency. If you want it thicker, leave the lid off and simmer a few more minutes.
Serve over your favorite pasta with fresh-grated parmesan and fresh basil.
